Youth Categories - Only climbers in Junior, Youth A & B categories are allowed to lead climb.
- Youth D born 2007 or later
- Youth C born 2005 or 2006
- Youth B born 2003 or 2004
- Youth A born 2001 or 2002
- Junior born 1999 or 2000
Adult Categories - Climber must be 16 years or older as of December 31st.
- Recreational, (up to 5.9)
- Intermediate, (5.9+ to 5.11)
- Advanced, (5.11+)
- Masters, 45 years of age or older
- Open, is reserved for elite athletes who wish to compete for U.S. National Open Sport Climbing Team selection
